When choosing disposable washcloths, hydroentangled nonwoven fabric as the main material is gradually favored by consumers because of its softness, strong water absorption, durability and environmental protection. However, many people may not be clear about the choice of texture, material and grammage (gsm) of hydroentangled nonwoven face washcloths. In this article, we will discuss these three aspects in detail to help major companies choose the most suitable hydroentangled nonwoven raw materials to make excellent washcloth products.

Toggle1. Texture
The texture of hydroentangled nonwoven washcloths will affect their usage experience and functionality. Common patterns include flat pattern, grid pattern, pearl pattern and so on.
Flat texture: smooth surface, soft touch, suitable for sensitive skin and babies. Washcloths with flat texture will not cause harm to the skin because of low friction.
Grid pattern: with certain friction, suitable for deep cleansing. The grid pattern can gently exfoliate and remove dirt, making it a good choice for those who wear makeup or have oily skin.
Pearl pattern: With embossed-like particles on the surface, it has better cleaning effect and good softness at the same time, it is a choice for both cleaning and comfort.
2. Material
Hydroentangled nonwoven fabrics are made of two main materials: polyester and viscose fibers. Very often, the two will be mixed to achieve better results.
Polyester: has better durability and strong tensile strength, but slightly less absorbent. Washcloths made of polyester are not easy to deform and are suitable for multiple use.
Viscose fiber: strong water absorption, soft touch, suitable for one-time use. Washcloths made of viscose fiber are usually more suitable for use as a washcloth or wipe because they absorb water and oil quickly.
In actual products, it is common to find materials blended with polyester and viscose fibers, which ensures softness and absorbency while increasing durability.
3. Grammage (gsm)
Grammage (gsm) is the weight of the material per square meter, which directly affects the thickness, absorbency and durability of the washcloth.
Below 40gsm: Thinner, suitable for light cleaning and daily use. Highly portable but less durable.
40-60gsm: medium thickness, suitable for most people and uses. A more versatile choice with good absorbency and moderate durability.
60gsm+: thicker, suitable for deep cleaning and multiple uses. The thicker material offers better absorbency and durability, but is correspondingly more expensive.
General Recommendations
If you are using it for sensitive skin or babies, it is recommended to choose a plain, viscose fiber based, 40-50gsm washcloth. These are soft, absorbent and do not irritate the skin.
If you need deep cleansing, we recommend choosing a grid or pearl pattern, polyester and viscose fiber blend, 50-60gsm washcloth. Such products combine both cleaning power and softness to effectively remove dirt and keratin.
