Can alcohol disinfectant wipes be used to wipe down the following items
1. TV Screen
Recommendation: Use cautiously or avoid. Most TV screens (especially LED and OLED screens) have special coatings, and alcohol may damage these coatings, leading to loss of shine or leaving streaks. It’s better to use a cleaning cloth or wipe designed specifically for electronic screens, which usually have a lower alcohol content or are alcohol-free.
2. 3DS Screen
Recommendation: Use cautiously. While the 3DS screen is not as fragile as a TV screen, alcohol may still affect it. Alcohol could damage the screen’s protective coating or cause scratches. To be safe, it’s better to use a slightly damp cloth (not an alcohol wipe) to clean the screen.
3. Skin
Recommendation: Can be used, but with caution. 75% alcohol wipes are effective for disinfecting, especially for cleaning and sanitizing hands. However, frequent use of high-concentration alcohol can dry out, irritate, or dehydrate the skin, particularly if there are cuts or sensitive areas. After using alcohol wipes, it’s a good idea to apply a moisturizer to prevent skin dryness.
4. Leather
Recommendation: Avoid use. Leather is very sensitive to alcohol, which can cause it to dry out, discolor, or become misshapen. Alcohol will break down the natural oils and structure of the leather, causing it to lose its softness and appearance. When cleaning leather, it’s better to use leather-specific cleaners or a gentle damp cloth.
5. Baby Skin
Recommendation: Not recommended. Baby skin is very delicate, and 75% alcohol may cause severe irritation, dryness, or allergic reactions. Babies’ skin is still developing, so it is not recommended to use alcohol-based products directly on their skin. For babies, it’s best to use wipes specifically designed for them or gentle cleansers that are alcohol-free.
